Propst has not coached in his native state since 2007. Rush Propst was already back in Alabama high school football, but now he could be close to the head coach's chair. Ben Thomas of Alabama Media Group on Thursday reported Pell City is in the process of naming Propst head coach of the 6A program, with a Friday announcement possible. The Panthers went 1-10 overall and 0-6 in 6A Region 6 play in 2022, according to MaxPreps. Pell City is located east of Birmingham. The school did not return a message seeking comment from FootballScoop.
